Sooner or later massive amounts of food, fuel and repair parts must come to sustain the big ship and her six hundred member crew. swhen it comes, it comes by the tons and thousands of gallons. Pumped, dropped, transferred and lifted in a myriad of wires, helos, rigs and pallets. Orderly confusion reigns once a month as the fresh food is delivered and fuel provided to the adven- turer who roams the sea. The Boatswainmate is king in this evolution. He decides when and how it comes. The Storekeepers and Cooks count the cans and boxes and the Oil King counts his gallons and checks the quality, but the Bos'un decides how fast it gets here. T
