Commanding Oflicer of Troops Capi. P. D. Traog, USMC U Captain TRACY entered the Marine Corps in May 1966. He served a tour in Vietnam from March 1967 to April 1968. He was released from active duty in April 1969 whereupon he enrolled in Western State College of Colorado. Upon gradua- tion from college, in March 1974, he received his commission in the Marine Corps. He completed his first tour of duty in October 1976 serving as the In- telligence Officer and 81MM Mortar Platoon Com- mander for the 2nd Battallion 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, Okinawa. Upon detaching from the 3rd Marine Division, Cap- tain TRACY was ordered to Marine Barracks, Subic Bay, Phillipines. He was assigned as the Marine Barracks Operations Officer from November 1976 to July 1977. He was reassigned as the Guard Officer for the Naval Magazine in July 1977 and held that billet until November 1978. Returning to the United States in December 1978, Captain TRACY was assigned as the Commanding Officer, Company A , lst Battalion 8th Marines, North Carolina.

Exeouiive Officer of Troops Isi LT. R. M. Lake. USMC First Lieutenant LAKE came into the Marine Corps via the NROTC Scholarship Program at the Citadel. While in college he completed the US Ar- my Airborne course, French Army Airborne and Mountain Training schools. Upon graduation with a degree in Modern Languages, he received his comission in the Marine Corps in May 1977. From January 1978 to February 1979, 1st. LT LAKE served as a rifle Platoon Commander with Company A , lst Battalion 2nd Marines and S- 2A for RLT-2 during Operation Northern Wed- dingfBold Guard. 1st LT LAKE served from February 1979 to May 1980 as a RECON Platoon Commander, Company C , 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion. During the period, he took his platoon through a nine month mountainfcold weatherfski training cycle including deployments to Northern Norway where he headed joint USfNorweigan reconnaissance efforts during operations Barfrost 1979 and Anorak Express 1980. Upon his return, 1st LT LAKE was assigned to Company A , 1st Battalion 8th Marines as Ex- ecutive Officer.
