They blame their big brothers and sisters for things they did and then tell mommy that so-and-so hit me back. Whether the truth or not, big brother or sister always gets in trouble, On the other hand, you could be the younger child who gets more privileges and seems to get away with murder. Sometimes problems can arise: competition, favoritism, and sibling rivalry. As several students testify, living with brothers and sisters offers a variety of problems... and advantages. Qowcfer Tower! If the going gets tough, the tough play powder puff football, and the men mock cheerleaders It seemed like football season once again when the halls were highlighted with green and gold in honor of the annual Powder Puff game, but, contrary to the usual football games, the girls were wearing the football jerseys and the guys were outfitted as cheerleaders and Troymen. The morning pep rally revved up the juniors' and the seniors' spirit and girls from both tetuns insisted that they would win. 4'The juniors will win because we're better! said Candy Evans enthusiasti- cally. This statement was met with a vehement No you won,t! from many of the seniors. Throughout the day people anticipated who would indeed win and awaited the game which would confirm it. The game, which was held at Dewitt Perry Junior High, had good attendance on both sides, and the rivalry between the jun- iors and seniors was evident. While the cheerleaders enter- tained the fans, the players were working hard toward a victory. By halftime the seniors were leading the juniors, 26-0. During halftime the Senior Troymen danced to the song, Push It, as the spectators urged them on. The senior cheerleaders did their cheers and drills and the ever-famous pyramid, The junior Troymen strutted their stuff during Wham Rap, while the cheerleaders performed their spectacular stunts. By the fourth quarter, the juniors' hard work paid off with 14 points to the seniors' 39. The game ended with the Class of '88 beating the Class of '89, 39 to 14, setting a record with the highestnumberofpoints made in Powder Puff history. The senior crowd roared to life cheering and screaming... again, the seniors were victorious. After their defeat to last year's seniors, the seniors vowed to get revenge, and they did. For hours, the girls practiced through their runs and plays, thinking out strategies and working out game plans. Said Michelle Bell, I thought the seniors were going to lose because the juniors looked really good this year. The jun- iors were determined to beat the seniors to become the next Pow- der Puff champions, and, throughout the game, they showed their enthusiasm and spirit... but they will have to wait until next year to try to capture the title. The final scoreboard. 28 POWDER PUFF Juniors Tammy Ilart and Noel Navarette watch their teammates on the field.
