LCDR Haigis Chief of staff LT Iflgerski LTJG Aranow LTJG Covington Captain Robert S. Tisdale enlisted in the U.S. Na- val Reserve in 1939. He was appointed to the U.S. Na- val Academy in 1942. In 1966 he was advanced to rank of Captain. Captain Tisdale's early service was aboard the battleship USS NEW JERSEY, and, d e s t r o y e r s USS FURSE and USS RADFORD. He served on the precom- missioning detail of the USS JOHN KING and on board as Executive Officer during the period 1960-62. He graduated from the Naval War College in 1963 and served as Commanding Officer of the USS MULLINNIX from 1963-65. Following his sea tour, Captain Tisdale was as- signed to the Advanced Surface Missile Systems Pro- gram of the Surface Missile Systems Project until the summer of 1966, at which time he was reassigned as Director, Weapons Control Division, AAW Directorate of the Naval Ordnance Systems Command, and later as a Special Assistant to the Surface Missile Systems Project Manager. He served as Commanding Officer USS CASCADE QAD 165. Captain Tisdale assumed command of Destroyer Squadron Twenty on 5 November 1970. Commodore Robert S Tisdale C G M D I TETY lL...........

LCDR HUBBARD was commissioned in February 1960 after graduating from Officer Candidate School at Newport, Rhode Island. He was assigned to the USS BOXER CLPH-41 and the Staff of Commander Amphibious Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet prior to re- porting as Operations Officer aboard USS JOHN PAUL JONES QDD-9321. In 1966 he reported Pearl Harbor where he as- sumed duties as Executive Officer of the USS FORSTER QDER-3343. In November 1968 then Lieuten- ant HUBBARD reported to the office of the Chief of Naval Operations where he was assigned duties as Assistant Head, Mine Warfare Branch, Undersea and Strategic Warfare Development Division. In 1970 L i e u t e n a n t Commander HUBBARD at- tended the Armed Forces Staff College, reporting to the USS NEWMAN K. The boilermen are responsible for the upkeep and opera- tion of four boilers that provide steam at 600 pounds PSI which drives the ship. The machinist mates maintain the care of the two engines, shafts, and all other pieces pertaining to propulsion. When the ship requires metalworking the shipfitters are called. They combine with the damage controlman maintain the ship's watertight integrity and the ability to withstand battle damage. The electricians and IC men ensure that the generators, wiring, lighting, internal communications, and, the ship's Gyrocompass are operable. T, Doroshenk, Engineering Officer
