MONDAY: The morning produced a tour of Embassy Row and a tour of the National Cathedral, the largest Episcopal Church in America which will someday be like Westminister Abbey. During the afternoon we visited the Franciscan Monastery a Catholic shrine which contains copies of Euro- pean places held sacred by Catholicism. We also went through: the Supreme Court Building, but were unable to see the Court in session, the Mellon Art Gallery, and the Botannical Gardens which wasla fascinating place. In the evening we dined at the Lotus Club, a Chinese-American night club, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner. TUESDAY: In the morning, we had a tour of the Bureau of Printing and Engraving where our money is made and released. It is one of the most interesting tours of the en- tire trip. Next, we browsed through the Smithsonian Insti- tute-a place which could occupy one's time for months be- fore all could be seen. Enroute to the hotel for lunch, we had a few minutes for shopping which pleased almost every- one. After lunch, we loaded our suitcases aboard the bus, and our last stop in the city was a guided tour of the Fed- eral Bureau of Investigation. This is an awe-inspiring tour, and really makes one think about the efficiency of our crime-prevention system. To the great delight of some tired feet and bodies, we were at last heading north after five wonderful days. Chat- ter, singing, or sleep were in order for many-and we had dinner in the Hotel Gettysburg. The last five or more hours were the hardest with continuous driving, but about 1:30 we arrived in Newark Valley. ,i f K-1 i 1 Sin' , ,xx 4 1 6 Ji 3 I J Tx, NJ' 16 1,4 2 K. 1 lv 4 STUDENT CONTROL DAY TEACHERS Q lst Row LR E Beebe G Curkendall L Negus R Lewls R Ollver B Baker D Snapp 2nd Row L R B Compton B Sharp F Delaney S Gnvens D Chrystler B Caldwell B Deuel P Balrd M Myers S Lawton H Weber V Rlchards 3rd Row LR S Yetter W Hammond ' Hyatt B Walker R Shaver I f 533 J X M5555 KKK X Xf X lv XX x 2 'i f is if 'A X' ' f Cf ' f 4121 X ' I l I f fl S fi, N 5 K wk QQ X f 9, ,f M ff I 'W ff FQ: 'X 5 N ff tmx -XS I I 9 'fi Wx II rj, s l f If 1 I X11 My f , . glrfvf jkjflf Wx X fl" s X xl fl! ink , Y! f , . f Q X .
