The Board oi Education principally takes care oi the finan- cial arrangernents ot all the schools in the city. They pass on the schools' financial policies and approve all expenditures made by the schools. Also, the Board of Education appoints the superintendent, who in turn appoints the teachers, but the teachers are subject to approval by the Board. This year several alterations have been made in the organ- ization of the Board. The former president, Mr. I. M. Mitchell, resigned and was replaced by Dr. B. W. Iones. Mr. Walter Keller, associated with the Holophane Co., is vice-president. Mr. George Weaver, manager of Oil Well Supply Co., replaced Dr. D. C. Swigart. The remaining members are Mr. George Pfeiier, proprietor of the George Pteiier Clothing Store and Mr. Stacy Conrad, proprietor of the Conrad Drug Store.
