Do not be persuaded to this view, because ittis not.true. It may not be opportunity of the same type that existed before-we live in a changing world+-but if you are alert and think and work instead of wishing and complaining, you will soon find your particular door of opportunity. I have sent you a copy of a recent study of the careers of our Alumni of 1911-men who left the School twenty-five years ago. These men have sur- vived three serious economic depressions, and you will agree that their record is one of which to be proud. Opportunity found them, led them, and made them what they are today. Be ready for your opportunity when it beckons, lest it ruin you through unpreparedness. The only danger that I see is that our country may not rise to its own opportunities. If this should happen, our people will suffer accordingly. But I do not believe that it can happen,'if you and I do our part and meet our opportunities. V i, 07046097 JOHN T.
