floor whlle a lass decided to take an elevator IH another school
Distinction was shown to scholars by the tapping of the Honor
Club We vsere also permltted to present a class play Simple
Simon S mple vshlch brought us in the headlines The tradl
tion of giving the successful top floor S nlors a banquet delighted
us Another br1ght day u as the arriving of our long looked foi
class rlngs So with pleasant memories of our third Hoor hte
we arrn ed at the Senior floor
One lad xx ho had been steadlly climbing the stalrs had finall
caught up wlth us The number of pupils had dwindled consul
erably since only twenty eight answered the roll The students
who were the final choice of their classmates for the class officer
were Vlrgll Studer Presldent Dorothy Shroll Secretary Joan
Kaple Treasurer Esther Welthman Reporter Jane High and
Robert Gelger Student Council Representatives We were qulte
proud of these officers xx ho we feel can t be beat ln that game ot

minds 05 this fact One the carnlw al whlch vsas very succ ssful
was glven by the Athletlc Association Others were high school
and class parties where ex eryone had a memorable tlme We
vxltness the red letter days when the operetta Chimes of Noi
mandy and Oh Doctor were presented on April 21 and Max
19 respectfully The Junior and Semor Banquet at whlch vu
were the honored guests was one of our most ew entful days at
the close of the year
Although hopes for the future are bright we regretfully said
good bye to our happy days ln the N W H S at Baccalaureatc
and Commencement May 21 and May Z2

On a ramy day 1n September 1905 forty five Freshmen boal ded
the elevator to success Goxng Lp' Flrst floor Freshmen'
That s Where we freshles were slated to get off What a vsel
come we were gly en by the upper classmen They enjoyed thc
ldea of 1n1t1at1ng us and for one day a person couldn t tell by our
appearance lf we were boys or glrls That even1ng we were IH
ylted to the school audltorlum and lf we d1d not shovx up vxell
the Senlors made lt a polnt that yye dxd But all 1n all we went
thru the 1n1t1at1on quxte cheerfully and by the next day we felt

It was qulte a dlsappomtment for LS to remaln on the first flool
