Still, the usual number of students were aff-licted with ennui. Though classes covered wider and deeper ranges of material, these students maintained the attitude that their education was meaningless to their desires. They spoke of a lack of direction of their education toward a realistic use of their abilities out- side high school. lnstead, they saw inordinate pressure to work for college, a goal toward which fewer students are directing their efforts.

The over- whelmingly favorable reception of the Experience in Free Form Educa- tion demonstrated that students were willing to pursue individual interests, and the reorganization of students' time out of class improved opportunities to do so. Increased participation in expanded curricular offerings reflected student desires to return to the process of intel- lectual development, and the new re- source centers provided refuge for a somewhat small number of con- cerned students.
