G'irl's Club Room On the first day of school sandwiches were sold and all through the year magazine subscriptions were solicited. At the football games hot dogs and candy were sold by the girls of the several advisor groups. The bazaar was held on December sixthg this was a most festive occasion. Various booths were gaily decorated and the costumes of the girls offered a gala appearance. From the bazaar alone the Girl's Club cleared one thousand one hundred dollars, an accomplish- ment of merit. Early in the spring fifty girls at- tended the annual Girls Club Con- ference at'the Chicago Womaiis' Club. The purpose of the conference was to teach each club the reasons for the 'success of others and also to further friendship among the various schools. A delightful program was arranged and a tasty luncheon was served. Twenty One

The organi- zation was created to promote friend- ship, and to give financial aid to grad- uates by scholarships, and to under- graduates by loans. T The first social event of the year was the Freshman-Senior party which was given to initiate the Freshman girls into an atmosphere of friendli- ness. Other social teas were held throughout the year to promote the companionship of the students, moth- ers, and teachers. The lIother's and Daughter's banquet was held late in the winter. It was another project to lend a friendly spirit. There was an interesting and unusual program of soloists. The Girl's Club has always been very successful in raising money for its scholarships and other expenses.

Twenty-Two A Booth at the Bazaar Through the scholarships, Red Cross, loan funds, and Christmas sup- port, the Girl's Club has been able to give aid to those who were deserv- ing of it. Reports from the girls who have formerly received scholarships through this means have been favor- able, and the club is proud to con- tinue this advantageous project. The total income of the Girl's Club for this year has amounted to approxi- mately one thousand eight hundred dollars. During the year three hun- dred dollars was given for scholar- ships, seventy-five dollars for medical help, and smaller amounts for blan- kets, coal, and sundries for local chari- ties. Another five hundred dollars went to amortize the debt on the grand piano which is in the club room. This club room is the place of many social teas, small informal recitals, meetings, and assemblies. It is beautifully furnished by the earn- ings of the club itself and has gained suburban praise.
