DEDICATIO W EMERSON BURKE Before the play The Heiress the girls in the cast were driven to the cosmetology building by Mr Burke to have their hair set As they got out of the car they called So long Pop thanks a lot' We the outgoing Senior Class should also like to say So long Pop thanks for everything. Pop has been a member of the New Rochelle High School faculty for 23 years and will remain so we hope for many years to come. During this period he or- ganized the Tower Players which has won wide ac- claim as an outstanding dramatic group and has found time to teach speech public speaking play production and stagecraft. With his capable and willing student assistants Pop has been in charge of all backstage work for assemblies concerts and plays. Pops summer stock experience includes the Berk- shire Players of which he was 1 member during its first two seasons and the Cape Playhouse in Dennis Mass. He has written four plays one of which There is My Home a biography of Tom Paine he directed and acted in 1947 with the Tower Players. To Pop Burke friend of faculty and students father to those who know him we sincerely and gratefully dedicate this yearbook. ADELAIDE LE COUNT Age cannot wither nor custom stale her inhnite variety With ingenuity competence and understand ing Miss Adelaide LeCount endowed with three qualities rarely found together has reserved a place in the hearts of the student body Besides teaching in NRHS for 34 years Miss Le Count was also the Senior Class adviser from 1930 to 1934 Now rn spite of a heavy schedule as head of the Mathematics Department she has undertaken the re sponsrbilrty of the college board math classes and de votes much of her time to helping the students It is interesting to note that Miss LeCount s ancestors settled here soon after the founding of New Rochelle ln honor of her French Huguenot heritage we can now boast of LeCount Place Students who were fortunate enough to know Miss LeCount found her to be a ready friend as well as an 'xble teacher And now when we leave NRHS for the last time we realize It was her thinking of others made you think of her Thus to Miss LeCount it is with the deepest appre ciation and gratitude that we the Class of 1952 dedi cate this Rochellean We
