They say high school years are the best time of a person’s life. Whether it be at a practice, at a game, shopping at the mall, or just plain watching T.V., ev- eryone likes to have fun. Each individual has a different per- sonality and attitude, which makes them fun to be around. Whether it is acting silly or walking a straight line, good friends are what make the GOOD TIMES good. “During a break from the rigors of pom pom camp, seniors Laura Kennedy, Laurie Nelson, Annelise Carter, and Bridgette VanSchoyck share in the fellowship of fruit juice, suckers, and a serious game of Old Maid.” Nothing But The Good Times Good Times Seniors Rich Young, Doug Saylor, She lly Lapezynski, Laurie Nelson, Jeff Stayback, George Farlie, Annelise Carter, John Jurkowski, and more give it all they have got during the “Class Olympics” tug of war. Sophomore Kenny Shipley likes his journalism class best because ‘‘We are on our own more and we do not have to listen to a teach- er lecture all hour.” Even though some stu- dents feel differently, it is possible to get a good edu- cation and enjoy doing it. Necessary For Lyfe heenguage Learning how to commu- nicate intellectually with people is one of the most important things a school can offer. New Prairie has a variety of language courses. Everyone has to take four years of English, but there are also foreign languages. Spanish is one of the most popular electives, followed by French. Mr. Shroyer, one of our new teachers at New Prairie, feels that “English has become the language of the world. To communicate effectively it is important that we understand our lan- guage on anumber of differ- ent levels.” Students pile at the door waiting anxiously for the bell to ring. The class of 1990 is one of balance and symmetry. The students value knowledge and intelligence yet manage to have loads of fun. For football homecoming, the juniors decorated an old bus, stood on its flatbed, and chanted cheers toward vic- tory. The juniors provide a backbone for the New Prai- rie athletic programs. Their optimism, which won them the spirit stick as sopho- mores, is building again, and shall reign. The future sen- iors, who completed a suc- cessful year with many out- standing displays at their annual band and choir con- tests, look forward to im- provement and perfection in their last year.
