CUSS PltOPHECV As we disembarked, we heard the chief receptionist, Shirley Allen telling the crowd all about the planned trip to Mars. We learn that Judy Piliero is at last realizing her ambition to travel in space. She will pilot her Space Buggy as she fondly calls the rocket ship. Jack Sanford will be radio-man. The seats in the rocket are very comfortable. They were designed by Law’s Lofty Lounging Chairs for Long Lousy English Classes! 1 Many celebrities from the sports world were there also. Warren Smith, third baseman for the Yankees, was discussing with Louise Gawel the new variation of the knuckle-ball which Ricky Johnson has perfected. It is called Ricky’s Rickety Ripping Roller. Louise Gawel is the coach of the Connecticut University Woman's basketball team. This team, played by men's rules, has defeated the U-Conn men’s team four years in a row, and is now the champion basketball team of the world. In the reception room, the radio was blaring out the good news that Tommy Wallian’s beloved Brooklyn Bums had finally won the World Series. The armed forces are having a parade for the big event. Janot Armbruster is a sergeant in the Air Force, and Marjorie McBride is a sergeant in the WAC’s. Squeaky Warner has just returned from the South Sea Islands where he has been commanding his fleet. David Adair is in the Army now. As I looked around the airport, I saw Sue Stackhouse busily drawing sketches advertising the Pepsi-Cola Industry in which John Gallagher has made a fortune in his stock. Barbara Hope, the famed model for Life Magazine and Sally Bennett, Mrs. America of 1975, were discussing the beautiful hand carved furniture that Rocky Clinton had on exhibit. Alice Boltrom is now Secretary of the new Rocket Propulsion Commission and Marilyn Yoblonski is the Secretary of the Atomic Energy Plant headed by Paul Douskey. Pete Cronin designed the new modern office building. The restaurant at the airport is run by Mary Harz. They specialize in chocolate milk from Ken Lathrop’s farm of brown cows. Many of Mary’s customers are wearing the latest hair styles by Beverley Villane, Gloria Johnson, and Lorraine Olson. Leech’s Electrical Appliance Store seems to be drawing a lot of attention Mary Reynolds and Pat Young were demonstrating a new appliance invented by Ed Bouquillon when the fire alarm went off and Leroy Ladd. Fire-chief, came racing down the street in his new Super-Jet Fire Engine for Faster Service. ’’ Next to the airport is Cromwell's Coffin Corporation run jointly by Lynn Hendrix and Harold Cromwell whose motto is I dig you the most . I received a letter from Elsbet Kurtz today . . She is teaching Home Economics and Sports in Germany. Sue Noble is a Phys. Ed. teacher too. Bill Hopkins is getting his exercise another way. He is showing his prize cattle at the World Fair this year and is expected to win most of the top prizes. Well, it has been twenty successful years since we were in New Milford High. I hope the next twenty will be as successful for all of us. CUSS I1 Ml UK H Dear May, What an exciting experience 1 had this weekend, start at the beginning and tell you the whole story. I left La Guardia Airport a little before noon as I did not want to miss the noon take-off. In Mike Crowley s new Jet Airliner, it is only a matter of minutes now-a-days. As I took my seat, I noticed many of our former classmates on the plane. Bob Stone, the famous disk jockey, was flirting with one of our hostesses, Nancy Lingle. Our other hostess, Diane Flynn, was telling Don Moore how much she enjoyed his set for the latest Broadway hit, Night Fell , the sequel to our own Senior play Night Must Fall. Suddenly 1 was attracted by a red flash. It was Marion Maloney. She made her fortune in the world's newest industry, raising guppies. I was sitting next to Enid Greenhaus, the President of the Anthropological Society of Lower Slobovia. Anthropology didn’t seem to interest me very much though. It reminds me too much of Pop Kelly's Ancient History class. By the way, I am the head O. T.R. at the New York Hospital for Occupational Therapy. Barbara Douskey and Judy Van Ronk are nurses there also. The Carlson Twins are nurses at the Graham Memorial Hospital founded by Dr. Wynne Barringer. This hospital was set up especially for people who have to recuperate from Mr. Graham's jokes. Glancing back, I could see the Secretary of Agriculture, Jim Sullivan talking to Ken Lathrop about his new farm entitled Ken’s Kennel Corporation for Class A Cows. Richard McGoldrick has bought out the McCormick industry and is now selling McGoldrick's Automatic Mash Hoppers to the poultry farm run jointly by Bernard McCarroll and Roger Bennitt. Bernard has developed a new kind of chicken which lays fried eggs sunny side up. Dave Benedict, owner of the Transcontinental Trucking Firm of America transports Charles Flynn’s top grade cattle to Green Acre Farm run by George Green. Maybe you saw in the papers, Ed Schultz is the new Jet King of the Indianapolis Speedway. He took the title from Martin Alessio who is now a retired millionaire, Martin's favorite hobby is to take the girls for a ride and scare them by going over the 200 mile an hour speed limit. Herman Ludewig’s great discovery of a Uranium for Peace plan, whereby all the uranium goes to heat the super highways instead of destructive use was supplemented by Ted Thowless’ ingenious invention The Motor Man . This robot takes the place of the chief causes of traffic accidents, human drivers, and eliminates the necessity of women drivers. June 19, 1975 I witnessed the departure of the rocket ship to Mars. But wait -- let me Wayne Emmons has gone into the toy business, and is making jet-propelled paper airplanes dedicated to school teachers all over the world. He showed his invention to Mary Yarochowicz who had brought her class to the airport. She seemed to think it was a little too complicated for her third grade class, but Joan Sherwood’s identical triplets seemed to change her mind. Mary has quite a few children of our classmates in her class. Elsie Easton, Ruth Hungerford, Mary Lucas, and Connie Long are enjoying a few minutes of relaxation while their children are under Mary’s watchful eye. Finally we reached the Yucca Flats in Nevada, the testing grounds for the rocket ship of which Larry Schindler was chief engineer.
