Rick DeGuzman Marine Detachment The Marine Detachment provides security for SpcCiHl VYWPOIS and physical security for NEW JERSEY along with being an mtegf part of the battleshipls crew. all During general quarters, Marines man up .50 cal. and M60 m s chine guns and provide back up for repair parties and stretcher bififfefs when necessary. Composed of two officers and 53 enlisted Mar1neS, these warriors in dress blues also provide a color guard, an honor guard, drill team and orderlies for the ceremonies aboard. ' f Some of this deployment's highlights include performing. ,Of Commander, Seventh Fleet and the Flag Officer in Chargg, Phlllg- pine Navy, in Subic and guarding the battleship in the Persian Gu The Marines of the Detachment proudly continue a tradition tha dates back to the Revolution and gives added meaning to the tefm' soldiers of the sea, WETSU and Semper Fidelis!
