Behind the scenes their mission continues 365 days a year, in port or at sea, to provide quality service to the command and all Jerseymen. While not nearly as exciting as 16-inch guns blaz- ing, missiles soaring, or the hum of the engineering plant during 21 high-speed run, the quality and timeliness of the work performed by these quiet professionals is just as critical to overall combat readiness. During the course of this deployment, the battleship Administra- tion Department: processed over 200 personnel receipts and transfers, printed over 500,000 pages of material, processed in excess of 500,000 lbs. of incoming and outgoing mail, sold over 7,000 money orders, shot in excess of 5,000 photographs, administered over 450 Navy-Wide Advancement Exams, and aired in excess of 1200 hours of television programming. ' Yeomen, postal clerks, lithographer's mates, personnel men, CQ- reer counselors, journalists, photographeris mates, interior communl- cations electricians, master-at-arms and the welfare and recreation personnel make up the Admin silent support force and are always ready when needed.
