S-3 DIVISION Sales and service division sees its primary mission as crew morale. It does this by operating three retail outlets - The Main Ship,s Store, a Snack Bar and a Smoke Shop. The stores sell everything from basic toiletries to exotic stereo equipment. All of the profits from the stores are transferred to the welfare and recreation fund. In fiscal year 1988, the stores generated approximately S200,000 for the fund. The services branch of the division operates the laundry and the dry cleaning plant, the crew's barber shop and the officer's barber shop. The division also operates ten soda vending machines, four candy machines and four video game machines. SI-ISN Aguilar is taking inventory. We all have to get our hair cut regularly which means we must occasionally get it cut while underway. Cutting hair underway is an art in itself.
