To be idle is not one of Sylvia's traits, for she always has some task to perform. She serves as editor of the Town Clock News and engages in many other activities, both at school and at church. Her ambition for the future is to enter Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Betty Lou Russell July 9, 1937 Lou Camp Lejune: Basketball 12,313 Student Council 121: Devilpup Business Staff 12,31Q Yearbook Busi- ness Staff 12,313 Class Vice President 1313 Cheer- leader 131 New Holland: Band 11,413 Manager 1113 Yearbook Business Staff 141 There's never a dull moment when this dark-haired little miss is around. As our high-stepping drum majorette she sparked the high school band with her baton twirling abilities and able leadership. Lou: goes by the slogan, a day without laughter is ill spent. Though she attended five years at New Holland High School, her sophomore and junior years were spent at Camp Lcjune, North Carolina. Lou is planning a career as an airline hostess. Ted Robert Simmons July 27, 1937 Ted Salisbury: Chorus 11,213 Film Staff 11,21 New Holland: Yearbook Business Stall' 141 Unlike most redheads, Ted has no violent temper. His even disposition has marked him as one of the most genial lads of our class. Ted came to New Holland from Salisbury in our Junior year. To enforce the laws of Pennsylvania will be Ted's duty when he fulfills his ambition to become a state policeman after graduation from New Holland High School. Page 'T e n

ii Marian func Plank June 1, 1937 Marian Band 11,2,3,43g Chorus 11,2,3,43g Leoninus Business Staff 1433 District Band 1433 County Band 13,43 Marian is one of the more reserved, quiet members of the class, but she can always be depended upon to carry out any responsibility given to her. Much of her time is spent tooting her licorice stick in the band, for one of her greatest interests is music. Marian plans to enter nurses training after graduation, and her pleasing manner should carry her far in her chosen career. Patricia Marie Ranck October 14, 1937 Patty Hockey 123,433 Band 125,-133 Chorus 123,433 Patrol 11,253,433 Junior Play 133: Senior Play 1433 Leoninus Editorial Staff 1433 Class Vice President 1233 Cheerleader 13,43 Short and peppy describes ou1' Patty, Her blonde head can often be seen in the center of a laughing group. Patty showed her acting ability in both productions of the class plays. Hockey took up most of her time in the field of sports, and the cheerleading squad was fired by her enthusiasm for two years. Patty plans to attend college and major in physical education. Vernon Lee Ream August 22, 1937 Ream Tennis 12,3,-135 Soccer 11,2,3,43g Soccer Co-Captain 143 Possessing a car, Vernon whittles away his time rolling over the roads in search of new excitement of which he never fails to be in the midst. Many might doubt the statement that Vernon is the safest driver in school. As co-captain of the 1535-1 soccer team he led the team to cop the county championship laurels. See those long, bright, red socks coming' down the hall, that's she. You can find her in the middle of a group of students, calling each and everyone of them VVhitey and doing' some- thing' funny to make them laugh. As a commercial student, Sandra is prep'-ring' to be a stenographer. Hers will be an interesting' future-a lot of fun, and a lot of friends. Thelma fean Spotts June 14, 1937 Dash Salisbury: Band 112,333 Chorus 11,2,33Q Junior Play 1233 Yearbook Editorial Staff 1333 County Band 1333 Vice President 12,333 State Chorus 1333 Baseball 11,23Q Operetta 123 New Holland: District Chorus 11,3,433 County Chorus 11,3,43Q Band 143, Chorus 143 Music and Thelma are synonymous. She plays a trumpet in the band and is a member of the alto section of the chorus. Attending' District and State Chorus were high- lights of her school years. Thelma joined our class in the Senior year, coming from Salisbury. A roller skating' fan, she frequently finds time to pursue her favorite sport. Thelma hopes to continue teaching' piano to her pupils after graduation and continue with music as a hobby. Maxie Earl Talbot September 123, 153313 Max Chorus 1433 Leoninus Business Stall' 1433 T.C.N. Circulation Manager 143 filischievous, clown, prankstcrfthcsc are all adjectives that well describe Maxie. lt has been said by the commercial students that with- out Maxie, it is a dull day. Extra-curricular activities were not on his agenda bc- cause working filled his after-school hours. Although a member of the Naval Reserve, his plans for the future are indefinite. Page Tltzrfy
