1 .. 1' 0l'el,U0l' Once more an edition of the high school yearbook has rolled oft the press, and once more the publication, in its royal blue and white covers, bears, for the eighteenth year the title, Leoninus . Permit us to explain the traditions which have been willed to this edition by former yearbook staffs. Because the king of beasts , the lion, is the crown- ing symbol of our school seal, the term Leoninus , derived from the Latin word, Leo, has been adopted as the name of the school yearbook. As a result, the title Leoninus ap- pears on the yearbook covers, the colors of which are de- pendent upon the class colors. Our objective in preparing this 1951 edition of the Leoninus has been to record on paper a summary of the more important elements of our school career. To go be- yond a summary would be unnecessary, because even the most complete publication would not be able to capture those elements of our secondary education which will re- main with us long after we have gone forth in this world to show our school what we can do . Since the first yearbook was published in 1934, these books have served their readers in numerous ways . . . they have become a source of reference and information about graduating classes, and they have acted as a bridge to span the brink which separates the public from the school. How- ever, it is our desire that this 1951 Leoninus act as a last contact with our Alma Mater and in so doing, bind the members of the class of 1951 together in eternal brother- hood.
