Mrs. Helene M Weaver 3' liirade l-23 Wyoming Seminary, Kingston Bloomsburg State Teachers College Mrs. Weaver has been teaching for over twenty years. After teaching for a while in a rural school, she began a private kinder- garten. She has an original talent for artwork, and she uses it to make her homeroom attractive for her pupils. Mrs. Wfeaver is an active member ol' the Business and Profession- al Women's Club, of New Holland. This year she taught third grade in the borough building. She has enjoyed teaching at this new location very much. Association with youth keeps one young in spirit, says Mrs. Overly. She believes that the teaching profession affords a greater opportunity for one to keep abreast with the changing times. Mrs. Nancy Frey llirades 3-45 Millersville State 'l'eachers College lVlrs. Frey is a new teacher in our midst, as this is her lirst year at New llolland. She has charge of the combined third and fourth grade at the Borough Building. Giving her reason for teaching, she says, I like children at that age level, and find there is never a dull moment. She enjoys studying piano and is organist and choir director in . During his live years at New Holland, he has drawn upon his many years of experience in the field of education to solve admin- istrative problems and to guide students toward the full development of their talents. - Mr. Auld has given generously of his spare time in improving our school and our community. Hoffman has served as a member of the faculty, she has encountered many rich experi- ences which now enable her' to face seemingly insurmountable prob- lems with the realism, patience, and understanding required of a teacher. In addition to her duties as libr'arian and high school principal, Miss Hoffman has served as advisor for the Leoninus during the past eighteen years, a task in itself, which demands the fine thoughts and helpful guidance which Miss Hoffman possesses. Miss Mary A. Harsh fG1'ade 41 Millersville State Teachers College As an elementary school instructor, Miss Mary A. Harsh has presented her pupils with an educational background that has served as a strong foundation for additional knowledge. Experience obtained through years of teaching, has enabled Miss Harsh to give practical instruction to her students. Through the tol- erant, patient efforts which Miss Harsh employs in guiding her classes, all of her students have certainly benefited from her teaching. Mrs. Anna S. Diller fGrade 51 Millersville State Teachers College Mrs. Anna Diller, our fifth grade teacher, claims she enjoys teaching that particular age group because those students are at a very interesting age. She believes that without departmental work, she can better keep in close contact with the problems of her pupils. Her hobbies include flower gardening, which she enjoys through- out the year. Mrs. Diller also enjoys water color and Pennsylvania Dutch painting. - 5 we jacuhy -5-i Mr. Sigurd Sandberg fGrade 5-GJ Muhlenberg College Kutztown State Teachers College Mr. Sundberg is a new addition to the elementary teaching staff. He loves to have fun, and he can frequently be seen participat- ing in games with his students. His cordial manner has won him the respect of all his pupils. Miss Hefen B. Fcnninger fGrade 65 Millersville State Teachers College Miss Fenninger will long be remembered by many students as one of their favorite teachers. She has faithfully taught the sixth grade for many years. Before coming to New Holland, Miss Fenning- er taught at a rural school in Earl Township. In her spare time she enjoys fiowers .and artwork.
