She plays a good game of basketball and is a wiiz at soccer and hockey. Her name is frequently found on the honor roll, for this young lady takes a keen interest in her studies. Gracie is one of the members of the class who started school with us in first grade. The immediate future plans for Gracie include a continu- ation of academic work in college. Who's that fiash out there on the diamond?', asks some overwhelmed spectator, at one of our baseball games. That is our Earl, is the reply. His activity and interest in sports has never interfered with Earl's school work. N Earl has made a lot of his school days, truly Happy Days. He has also helped to make these days happy ones for his classmates. l Allan Leon Moore, fr. March 31, 1930 Al Glee Club 11,2,35. Putt-Putt-Bang! That's Allan racing into New Holland on his Whizzer . . . three minutes before the late bell rings. Allan's one and only interest seems to be tied up in the realm of mechanics. He has produced some very good indus- trial arts projects, and he is continually tinkering with old pieces of machinery. Allan's future is destined to be in the field of engineering. The best wishes of his classmates will follow him.

Melvin Martin Salisbury: Basketball 11,21g Play 121, Glee Club 11,2,31g Band 12,31g New Holland: Glee Club 141g Band 141. That lusty baritone voice, which you hear in Glee Club, Mel is one of the trio who entered our class this year from Salisbury, and we have been proud to know him. He was feature soloist at the Christmas Carol Service, and also one of the pupils representing the school at the Music Festival. Since his foremost interest is music, he plans to become a music teacher. fohn Earl Mast November 7, 1930 Lam Salisbury: Glee Club 12,31. John joined our class in his twelfth year, for he is another of the members who came from Salisbury. Wherever there is mischief, there you will find John. His love of fun has won him many friends during his brief stay in New Holland. Lem's future is indefinite, but his interests in 4-H activi- ties may help him to decide. C Carl McGinnis November 6, 1930 Mac Baseball 11,2,3,415 Soccer 12,3,41g Basketball 11,2,3,41g Patrol 11,2,3,41g Patrol Captain 1415 Glee Club 11,2,31g Band 11,2,31g Orchestra 11,2,31g Senior Play 1413 Class Vice President 1315 Basketball Cap- tain 141. Mac came to New Holland as a freshman in '44, from the Blue Ball school. Since then, his personality and good looks have won for him many friends. He has won many sports honors, especially in soccer and baseball. He also plays a good, fast game of basketball. As Steve in the Senior Play, he played the leading role to perfection. After completing high school, Mac will probably choose between the Machine Shop and the Navy. October 11, 1930 Mel belongs to none other than Mel, the vocalist of the Senior Class.

Quiet, but not too quiet, is the right description for Mabel, for she always has the right remark to add the finishing touch to a conversation. Coming to New Holland from Lancaster in sixth grade, she has led an active life here, and with all this she still finds time to keep her name on the honor rolls. Mubble's plans for the future are not definite, but in what- ever she does, we wish her luck. Carl Claude Oxenreider January 15, 1929 0xie Soccer 1315 Basketball 1213 Glee Club 11,2,31g Patrol 11,213 Leoninus Business Staff 141. The Class of '48 received a new member when Oxie joined us in our junior year, after serving about eighteen months in the Merchant Marine. Carl has been very active in school, and never failed to carry any responsibility that fell on his shoulders. His business train- ing was of great use in securing advertisements for the year hook and Senior Play program. -We feel you will go a long way in the world of tomorrow, 0xie. 4 Lee Ward Reese January 18 1929 Lee Band 1315 T. When you hear laughing or wisecracking, you can be sure Lee has been up to his old tricks. As Ed Smith in the Senior Play, Lee made an excellent showing of his dramatic ability. His main interest is girls, and he can often be seen going to neighboring communities. We' are expecting Lee to make the most of the opportunities life presents to him.
