'L-l- Commencement Exercises - ' School Lifesv Th-e S-enior Class presented as its Commencement exercise, an original pageant, School Lites, in the school auditorium, Wednesday evening, May 25, at 8 o'clock. Miss D. Irene Pennington was director of the play, and Mr. William D. Burley had charge of the music for the program. School-Lites was a series of skits representing all the High School departments and subjects studied by the members of the class. The portrayal of the departments an-d subjects studied by the class was interwoven and made more vivid by the narrator, Ethel Brendle, with the appropriate music of the orchestra. A Those departments presented and the characters used in the portrayals were: HOME ECONOMICS Mother, Charlotte Diem, Father, Reid Slick, Patty, Dorothy Zuck, Helen, Mary Weaver, Dot, Kathryn Frankhouser. FRENCH Jacques, a boy, Harry Witman, Aunt, Luella Gehman, Betty, Evelyn Eppley, Marie, Ar- line Klin-g, Theresa, Dorothy Stokes. SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS AND HEALTH -Represented by a court room scene The characters: Judge, Rayfmond Shirk, Lawyers, Mervin Buch an-d Walter S-huler, Ma- dame Curie, Dorothy Martin, Einstein, Reid Slick, Copernicus, Mark Houshower, Mar- coni, Jackson Yundt, Newton, Carl Sauder. ART AND SHOP Characters: Luella Gehman, Jane Staui'l er, Harold Weber, Walter Shirk and Clarence Rutt. HISTORY AND ENGLISH Represented by: Indian, Richard Myers, voice reading Hiawatha, Mwary Weaver, Pil- grims, Kermit Zimmerman, Iva Yost, Pilgrim Mothers, Margaret Stroman, Frances Ohl, Patrick Henry, Jacob Myers, Farmers, Donald Wright, Robert Geist, Martin Hoffman reads Chicago. ' COMMERCIAL Applicant, Marguerite Kessler, Employer, Eugene Good. EXTRA-CURRICULAR Boy, Walter Shuler, Principal, Eugene Good. By the enacting of these skits they portray to the public the practicability of each subject studied, and the importance of the school curriculum to the student in his after-graduate days.
