We also have our own radio technician. When you ask Yundt anything about radio, he belches forth with a speech quite technical, and you're in a fog before he has started right. He is just a little fellow, but he can hold his own in most anything. He has rather an abundant supply of talk food stored up, so when he is around, he often gives a speech on almost anything. On the whole, Jackson is all O.K. IVA BERNEICE YOST AUGUST 27, 1920 BLUE BALL, PA- Tri-Hi-Y Club 111 5 Glee Club 11, 2, 31 5 Operetta 131 5 Basketball 131. This young miss hails from the town of Blue Ball. Although Ivy is the smallest girl in our class, she certain-ly is full of fun and laughter. She is seldom seen without Peg, and seems to be her boon comp-anion. Iva always knows her lessons, and ranks in the upper grade of studen-ts. She is al- ways willing to help her classrnates in all ways p.ossible, and is well liked by everyone. lf she is asked what type of boy friend she prefers, her answer is, Give me one that can cheer. We wonder why? It coulldhlt be those Lititz cheerleaders, could it, Iva? KERMIT HARJDING ZIMMERM AN DECEMBER 7, 1920 BLUE BALL, PA. The good old saying, Children should be seen and not heard, must never have been taugh-t to Kenmit. If it was, he got the meaning reversed, Children should be heard and not seen. Everyone knows it's Kerm, by his yell, even before they see him.. Although Kerm diid not 'go out for basketball, he took ia great interest in this sport, and his most favorite sport is baseball. Kerm is a good friend of ev- eryone and is glad to do you a favor of any kind, in other wor-ds, a good sport. DOROTHY GERTNRUDE ZUCK DECEMBER 9, 1919 NEW HOLLAND, PA. Speech is silver, silence is golden, but this young lady is satisfied with silver. Always in a hurry, yet not too rushed to lend a helping of something to eat or give a friendly smile. Zucky is the captain of the patrol, and a very ,able captain at thait. She has spent her entire school career in the New Holland school. Dot is one of the best dancers in the class, even while on duty at the Peoples she is truck- ing with ia tray in her hands. Dot is interested in diner business, which she has made 'great plans for. In class 1'ooms, with Mother Nature, or any other imaginable place you find Harry, he will always have a pleasant smile for you. Harry's afternoon naps and pranks have broken up more than one class. Whenever you see Harry, he's sprawled over a desk, drawing little automobiles, or decorating his assignment book. Smit's jokes are always laughable, and his imitations are unique. Harry's main weakness is his guitar, and some day we expect to hear of the famous Goodville Croonerf' ROSANNA LA VERNE WISE SEPTEMBER 22, 1919 BOWMANSVILLE, PA. Good Housekeeping Club 111 3 Glee Club 11, 2, 3, 41 5 Operetta 13, 41. This lass hails from the good little town of Bowmansville. She is one of the many passengers of the Bowmansville bus, and she has not missed a day of school, except when it was necessary. She does not have too much to say, and this is an asset to her, because she can do her lessons in study periods instead of talking. La Verne is slightly inclined toward the opposite sex in school, but we suspect she is interested in someone at Bowmansville, because we cannot catch her with any boy at school. She is a friend to all her classmates. She is Ethel's assistant salesman for the senior candy. DONALD KURTZ WRIGHT DECEMBER 30, 1919 NEW HOLLAND, PA. Hi-Y Club 1115 Class Officer 111 3 Glee Club 11, 2, 3, 41 3 Operetta 13, 413 Baseball 13, 41, Basketball 13, 415 Manager of the Senior Play 141, Leoninus 141, Town Clock News 1415 Patrol 111. 37-25, 51-12. No, it's not a football signal, but those figures are just a few of the scores that this handsome, blonde, flashy goal-getter has made to bring New Holland to the top in Basketball. Not only is he interested in basketball, but he varies his sports, and you could not name one sport he is not in- terested in. Hoodle is a very popular member of the senior class and also is popular throughout the entire high school. Besides being a good sport, Hoodle is also studious and is quite frequently heard emitting some bright remark in History or English classes. The girls are crazy about him, but he won't have anything to do with them, or will he? We kind of suspect things lately, because he seems interested in that cer- tain dark-eyed lass from Goodville, namely Peg - Page Nineteen i

e Senior Play '19 Say It With Flowers The class presented the play, Say It With Flowers, on Wednesday evening, November 17, 1937, in the High School auditorium. Dorothy Stokes The plot is centered about 'the' Page household, which is about to go into bankruptcy. Mr. Page, knowing of the Castle's love for roses, invites them to see his rose garden, so his credit will be extended at Mr. C'astle's bank. When the Castles are about to arrive, Mr. Page discovers that no roses are to be found, because Sylvia and Jack, lovers, have used them to decorate the Yacht 'Club for a dance. To prevent Mr. Castle from learning this news, Jack Merrill goes to Mr. Castle's own rose garden and brings a very beautiful rose to Anthony Wayne, who has a scheme to prevent Mr. Castle from find- ing the loss. Meanwhile Aunt Min receives a special delivery letter from Oliver Pillsbury, who arrives a little later. He brings a suitcase full of Bibles stuffed with currency. As Anthony is trying to trick Mr. Castle, thelatter recognizes his own rose, and becomes angered. Mrs. Castle tries to calm him but to no avail. After the Castles leave, Aunt Min pays Mr. Page her board for the last several years, and some money her husband had borrowed from him. The Castles return, and Mr. Page pays off his liability to the bank, to the surprise of Mr. Castle and everyone. After having paid the debt, Mr. Pillsbury returns, having forgotten to tell them the money was counterfeit. They collect the money and give it to the maid, Ethel Jenks, to burn. Mr. Pillsburg returns again with a letter he forgot, which discloses the fact that the money was all good money, and Mr. Pillsburg was told it was counterfeit so he would not be tempted into steal-ing it. The play ended with the whole famfily rejoicing. Geraldine and Sylvia help inthe entertainment of their guests, the Castles. Anthony Wayne at- tracts Mrs. Castle by his painting. Aunt Min, the deaf lady, adds humor an-d spice to the farce by misunderstanding the people who speak to her. Student committees of the class handled the business transactions. The committee follows: Donald Wright, as business manager, with Richard Myers and Robert Geist as assistants, took charge of the tickets. The advertising manager, Harold Weber, was assisted by Ethel Brendle, Dorothy Zuck, La Verne Wise, Kathryn Frankhouser, and Eugene Good. The stage manager, Jacob Myers, was .assisted by Clarence Rutt, Walter Shirk, Walter Shuler, Kermit Zimmerman, Harry Witmian, and Jack- son Yundt.
