CLARENCE BURKHOLDER RUTT JUNE 25, 1920 N1-Jw HoLLANn, PA. Town Clock News 12, 333 Circulation Manager of Town Clock News 143, Patrol 113g Construction Club 113 3 Art Club 11, 2, 33- Clarence, better known as Buffy, has been an active member on the Town Clock News staff, having the job of circulation manager. Buffy talks a lot, which perhaps accounts for the fact that he doesn't get his lessons done dur- ing study periods. Sometimes Clarence dresses fit to kill and we often wonder if he is pulling the wool over our eyes, because we never see him with a girl. He seems a little bashful, but we think that is a help, be- cause if he wouldn't be, he would talk to the girls during study periods and cause more trouble. FRANCES MARIE OHL MARCH 5, 1919 NEW HOLLAND, PA. Home Economics Club 113 g Glee Club 11, 2, 3, 43 g Operetta 13, 43 5 Basketball 143. Listen real hard, maybe you can hear her. Yes, Frances is the little brunet, who speaks very softly, and whose class recitations are very strenuous on the ears. Frances takes life easy, and makes an easy object for a camera, because she walks, oh, so slow. She comes from up-state, Lock Haven, to you, and with her she has brought her good manners and good tastes. Ohl is a friend to all, and a good sport too. She went out for basketball and tennis, and she also likes to make candy and drive the car. CARL SAUDER SAUDER Ocrosma 7, 1919 NEW HOLLAND, PA. Glee Club 11, 2, 3, 43 3 Operetta 12, 3, 43 5 Senior Play 143 3 Advertising Manager of Leoniinus 143 g Class Officer 143 g Advertising Manager of Town Clock News 13, 43 g Student Manager of Sports 13, 43, Home Room Oi'Hcer 1235 Construction Club 113, Track 12, 33. That Chevy salesman is none other than Saud. Carl, one of the Sauder boys, is very popular in New Holland High School, especially in the Senior class. Saud doodles on a guitar and mandolin, manages the business end of sports, of our class and of our newspaper, makes study periods noisy, and flirts with the opposite sex. He has a keen eye for business beneath all those joking smiles and outbursts of laughter. Saud is everyone's friend, even the teachers,' and is willing to do anyone a favor. He is a hard worker and studies rather hard, but always finds time to talk and have a good time. Recently he re- ceived a nifty Chevy for his graduation gift, and boy, do we all envy him. JACOB HUTCHINSON MYERS APRIL 14, 1920 NEW HOLLAND, PA. Town Clock News 141, Sports Club 111, Glee Club 12, 3, 415 Operetta 13, 415 Stage Manager of Senior Play 1415 Leoninus 141. Jake, the witty fellow of Our class, never lets us down in History class, when a bright remark is needed. When humor is needed, to quell our dull moments, Jake,' is right on the job. He was not on the basketball team, but in his private life, he is very much interested in this game, because he can be found back of Shirkie's store, shooting for goals. Jake knows his bookkeeping from A to Z and his ambition is to become a bookkeeper, which we think he can easily make. The girls are also interested in Jake, for with that wavy hair he can make any one of the op- posite sex sit up and take notice. DOROTHY LORRAINE MARTIN MAY 12, 1920 NEW HOLLAND, PA. Dramatic Club 121 g Town Clock News 12, 3, 41 g Patrol 11, 2, 3, 41, Track 11, 2, 3, 41, Glee Club 11, 2, 3, 415 Operetta 13, 415 Senior Play 141g Basketball 131, Tri-Hi-Y Club 1115 Leoninus 1413 Baseball 11, 215 Hitz-en-Bitz 111. Dorothy is a busy girl, almost too busy to go to school, but she gets there at least three days out of the week. She is a good dancer, and there is never a dull moment when Dot is among the crowd. Her pet subject is horses. Although Dot works after school she has her lessons completed, and if they aren't finished she always manages to find some excuse. She is interested in extra curricular activities, being on the pa- trol forthe last seven years. Dot is also interested in basketball, and can play a good game. ' RICHARD TODD MYERS NOVEMBER 5, 1920 NEW HOLLAND, PA. Glee Club 1115 Patrol 1113 Baseball 12, 3, 41, Track 11, 2, 3, 41g Sports Club 1115 Leoninus 141. Bashful, but cute, that's Todd. He must have been born under a lucky star, for he seems to have a streak of luck . . . for instance that bank night winner. TO say that he is quiet and reserved does not mean that Todd isn't with the class, for he always takes part in its activities. Todd has taken a .great interest in sports, and many a time he has helped to lead the baseball team to victory. On the whole, Richard is a good, all around sport and is liked by everyone in his class. -l--li Page Fourteen 1

,pcm RAYMOND MARTIN SYHIRK AUGUST 12, 1920 GROFFDALE, PA. Construction Club 111, Class Officer 12, 313 Captain of Magazine Contest 1315 Man- ager of Mlagazine Contest 1415 Senior Play 1415 Editor-in1Chief of Leoninus 1413 Debate 13, 41 3 Editor of We, the J,unior's, Speak, 131 3 Town Clock News 141. Who is Amy? He's our brain trust, the perfect answer to a teacher's prayer, but not snooty in the least. Not only is he the te'acher,s chief asset, he is a friend of one and all, always willing to help the undergraduates and his own classmates with any and all their studies. He'll do more than what you ask him to do. A good all-around fellow, instantly ready to joke, or dwiscuss the most difficult problem in the line of lessons. Amy is the ibutt of a good many jokes, but he is able to both give and take. Every morning, rain or shine, he rolls in from Windytown, so that explains the cool breeze around school these last four years. Amy is the boy who holds Windytown on the map. He is also interested in extra activities, as was shown by his participating in the Senior play. WALTER HOOVER SHIRK AUGUST 9, 1920 NEW HOLLAND, PA. Sports Club 111 3 Commencement Committee 141 g Art Club 11, 2, 31. Who's the great author of our class. Why it's none other than Walter Shirk. He can juggle words around in such a manner, that it makes the rest of us look silly. Although Pete is a good writer, he is not seen sitting around always trying to write a great book, but he associates with the other 'boys and is the ringleader of comic thoughts in or around school. He is a jolly friend of everybody, and can both give and take many jokes. He can be seen working around school after school hours, and it is to him that We owe the honor of beautifyin-g our class rooms and school building. WALTER EUGENE SHULER DECEMBER 8, 1919 BEARTOWN, PA. Hi-Y Club 111g Operetta 141, Commencement Committee 141, Glee Club 11, 2, 3, 41. Whenever you hear the sound of sweet music coming up Main street. you can be sure that Walter is having one of his musical moments. Walter has displayed his wit and talents to most of us in the Junior and Senior High School ass-errrblies. He can 1'eally make his harmonica erupt a beautiful swing song or any other song he desires. Walter completed the Freshman year with us, but spent his second and third high school years at another sch-ool, again returning to finish his high school career at New Holland. - Page Sixteen l -l
