World situations existing from the Stone Age to the present were studied by the students of world history. U.S. history students were taught the growth of America from the day Columbus landed to the present day and age. They learned of the. work and the dangers that faced their ancestors of long ago. Rw tgw Languages omAj Social SWies BtWew Foreign languages are necessary in this day of world controversy and of the jet age. They prepare us for better foreign relations in the future. In addition to the languages themselves, the customs, histories, people, and geographies of France, Germany, and the ancient Roman Empire were studied. All of these things gave the students a back- ground and environment in which to study their particular language.
