Student debate provides a means for expressing ideas and thoughts on controversial subjects. The debate are Barbara Richards, Sandi Brooke, Carol Klopfenstein, Bonnie Benzinger, Shari Bartels, and Glor Augenstein. 0 0 Q06d Qtudjtodb Poise and self-confidence while speaking are the main objectives of the speech class. A person can perfect his ability to express ideas clearly and interestingly. Students accomplish these objectives through panel discussions and individual speeches. English literature and grammar are also of definite importance. They cultivate a student ' s appreciation of literature and teach basic essentials needed in writing. In addition to the languages themselves, the customs, histories, people, and geographies of France, Germany, and the ancient Roman Empire were studied. All of these things gave the students a back- ground and environment in which to study their particular language.
