JU IOR VARSITY BASEBALL Coach Moulton is faced with the problem of producing in a short time a J. V. club which is to play one of the largest schedules in years. Because of inclement weather. the season was slow in getting started, The J, V.'s have the material to win some ball games this year if they work hard at the lengthy practice sessions which will be necessary during the rest of the short season, The lack of facilities for transportation and the shortness of the season necessitated the playing of double-headers with Holderness and K. U. A. Although it is not definite, Coach Moulton expects that a double-header will be scheduled with Proctor Academy. The squad is not studded with veterans since many of last year's team have been promoted to the varsity this year. Rocky Holman seems to be the mainstay of the nine. while many newcomers from the reserve team look like promising material. The J. V. team not only serves its purpose in providing clean sport but also supplies future material for the varsity. In spite of the delayed beginning, the outlook for the season is good. VARSITY TENNIS The prospects of the tennis team look rather good, although we have been handi- capped somewhat by a lack of warm weather. The team is off to a late start but we hope to play all our matches. Those which have been scheduled are with Holderness, Tilton, and Kimball Union Academy. We will meet each team twice. The following men are out for the team this year: Buckley Holton, jesse Chadwell, Bruce Lins, Stanton Smith. Frank Kimball, Peter Seibert, Norris Townsend, Robert Dushame and Melvin McLeod. The competition will be extremely keen, but the spirit of the team is high and we expect to live up to the exceptional record that our tennis teams have established in the past.
