Shahnfn HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF '29 When the class of '29 came to the New Hampton High School it caused the upper classmen to sit up and take notice, for almost immedilately after entering, its members began to take a prominent place in the various school activities, particularly in athletics, declam a.nd debate. As the first year closed, beams of light were al- ready falling from certain stars of the cllass. . 'At the beginning of our Sophomore year it was evident that the members of the class had found out that the only way to success is hard work, and the point of success that was obtained duuring this year giave evidence of much ha.rd work. This year again our members took an even greater active part in the school activities and it began to look as though the Class of '29 would be one of the most distin- guished classes ever to graduate from New Hampton High School. When school opened for our third or Junior year, the spirit which is found in the most loyal students, was bubbling over in the entire class. This year the members of the class settled down and worked even harder, and the record made by the class as a whole during this year is 'a very com- mendable one. The opening of school in the fall mark- ed our fourth and last year. We were Seniors! Realizing that our last chance to take part in any of the school activities, or to make a good showing in the class room was at hand, we set out to make this our biggest and .best year. We were represent- ed better than ever in athletics, and decllam and the records made by the mem- bers of the class in each of these activities were one that no class could but admire. , As the school year drew to close it marked the last of our career in the halls of New Hampton High School, and though sorry we are to part, We are not sorry for the record the class as a whole has made. Graduation may mark the parting from N-ew Hampton High School forever for some of us in person, but our thoughts will ever turn back to the friendships, and good times we had during those four years spent in New Hampton High.
