FOREWORD In order for any shadow to be cast there must be an object and a source of light. At times a perfect object might cast a distorted shadow an-d again at other times a clear shad- ow , but bear in mind the fact that a distorted object never casts a clear shadow , However, the more perfect the object the more distinct the shadow. The objects that have cast the 1924 Shad- ow have been two in number: first, memories of the past., typified by the frontier days which cast aclear Shadow in the scenic pictures of our book. The second object, our school life, has been both clear and distorted. Accordingly, the shadows have varied from perfect reproduc- tions to wavering and flickering images. We trust, kind reader, that as you read the succeed- ing pages you will conclude that it is as clear a Shadow as it could be made, remembering too, that no model made by human hands is perfect. Such being the case, High School life does not al- ways cast a clear shadow.
