SENIOR REVIEW SOPHOMORES Jeepers, weren’t we a flock of lost pigeons that first day at Ne-Ca-Hi! It seemed rather silly to us, when our home room teachers gave us maps of the school, but later we realized how much they helped us. Weren’t we glad to learn that all those HORRIBLE things we heard don’t really happen to the sophomores? Our Reception was the highlight of our beginning days at Senior, and afterwards, we felt we really ‘belonged.’ We were certainly in a tizzy when our president quit school ond our vice president lolled in Florida. But looking back on it now, we remember our sophomore year as one filled with the fun and adventure of getting organized, becoming acquainted with each other and learning the customs that make up Ne-Ca-Hi. JUNIORS Many thought we would never make the grade, but here we are, upper classmen at last. Those poor Sophomores! That was some week end the football players and the band had at Bethlehem, when we won 28-6. But, before we knew it the New Year was upon us and we sponsored our first dance as Juniors. Then plans were made for the Hobo Hop. Oh, What Fun! With spring, Mary Lou Rocks was crowned May Queen. After that not much time was spent on school work, we just stood around admiring and envying the successful plans made by the Seniors, with all the privileges and responsibilities that belong to that choice species— and soon WE would be Seniors. SENIORS And then in the fall of ’48 we became Seniors! The highpoint of our first semester was the winning of the W.P.I.A.L. football championship and the P.I.A.A. cross country championship. Will you ever forget the night when Elaine Chapman and Tony Cialella reigned as king and queen at the football dance? The hilarious football parade, the noisy study hall, those pink slips, and the smash hits, “Susie the Siren,” and “The Professor Goes Haywire.” After an exciting season in basketball, the team managed to tie for fifth place. Then came thoughts of Easter vacation and graduation. The pictures, the dinks, the pennants, and name cards, our dinner dance, the annual, and CLASS DAY. But the Big Moment finally arrived when we walked across that endless stage and received our diplomas, which meant we must now bid a sad farewell to dear old Ne-Ca-Hi. Page Five
