THE THEME The World's Fair: a symbol of progress! THE World's Fair of 1933, ultra modern in conception and execution, is truly in- dicative of the progress the World is mak- ing. Great strides have been made in pol- itics, science, engineering, education, arch- itecture, and literature. Men have given themselves to dreaming and the result has been a Century of Progress. From these dreams there have come in politics the World Court and the League of Nations, in science the Wireless, the radio, and the electric light, in engineer- ing the Hudson Tubes, the Hoover Dam, the automobile, and the aeroplane, and in education there has come centralized, con- solidated, and junior high school, higher standards for both teachers and scholars, and greater college and university facili- ties. Architecture has brought us the great Radio City and the exquisite Cathedral of Learning, while literature has brought the newly perfected international language, Esperanto. Thus such dramatic development and world wide advancement of civilization has brought us to the outstanding event of this year of events, our theme: THE WORLD'S FAIR
