Along with performing in clever and unique marching drills during halftime activities at all of the football games, this industrious group of students traveled to Austin in Oc- tober for the Annual University of Texas Band Day, only to acquire first place and gain state-wide fame as wlihe Best High School Band in the Statef, In commemoration of the bandis 25th An- niversary, the senior members were presented with jackets signifying white lyres framed 'ry scroll stitch reading t'25th Anniversaryf, For the same purpose, Mr. Kohlenberg pre- sented the majorettes with small silver batons md chains at the annual Band Festival. As a tribute to Mr. Kohlenberg, who lssisted in the instigation of the first band, mtl who also so willingly and unselfishly has ,erved the band. the Senior High P.T.A. pre- rented to him a silver baton, as well as new lags for the entire band.
