Clarenlle B Managels 1- Students and sports -fans were saddened to learn that Coach Bynum was moving to Pales- tine, Texas. In the 10 years that Bynum coached here, the Unicorns have five times been District Champions in football, have placed second in District four times, and have entered in the bi-district playoffs, State finals semi-finals and quarter-finals. Coach Bynum was perhaps the most color- ful coach in the Southwest. His loud shirts, enthusiasm, and perpetual half-chewed cigar made him a prominent figure in any crowd. In 1949 he was named the outstanding coach of Southwest Texas . We of the annual staff wish Coach Bynum success in his new position. 1 20 Coaches Shankle Bloxom Weldon Bynum and Frank Hefner New New New New New New New New New New New New New 1950 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE Braunfels Braunfels Braunfels Braunfels Braunfels Braunfels Braunfels Braunfels Braunfels Braunfels Braunfels Braunfels Braunfels Hondo 0 Brady O Wharton 0 Yoakum 0 Luling 0 Lockhart 14 Gonzales IZ San Marcos 6 Seguin 6 Brenham 7 Georgetown 6 La Vega 6 Wharton Z8 and our abeck , 5 N '7 X 4 I 0 11 0, . if' -f ,. 5 . 9 .Q 1 nmmvfj' 1115 115 Q Tom McCoy Co -Captain flew 2 Q5-56 Wh Xf' Q'!ff.5 . ? Iqalll' l "Waiting for the train to come in" The competition has been a little rough eh? The hoarseness after a stirring pep rally, the gaiety of the Queen of Hearts Ball, the thrill of a football victory, and the cavorting in a Conga line in the streets hold an unspoken bond which even time will not erase from memories of the students of our school. Long after we have forgotten the classrooms, the arduous studying, we will recall with delightful memories those events, which bound us in a unified school spirit which will remain forever remembered. 136 'C' , H , ,4 'L av ' f J L PT ' -Q ' " , ,, I J ,A 0 0 lx S .gf NI X If R S JU7' A, KANSAS Mvsns ANU C0 'Nc Topix ,' N .'c , 1 L' 0, .
