VERNON ZIPP Band '46, '47, '48, '49, '50. HISTORY OF THE SENIOR CLASS OF 1950 In September of 1949, the Senior Class of '50 registered for their final year in New Braunfels High School. The Seniors chose maroon and silver for their class colors and the gladiola for their flower. In their six year stay at New Braunfels High School, the Seniors have successfully lived up to their motto, "Not how much, but how well." In 1945, the prospective Seniors of '50 chose Roxolin Bonn: 'o represent them in the Queen of Hearts. Roxolin placed third, with Jeanelda Denmark as Queen This class boasted a Junior High favorite who was also Roxolin Bose. Doyle Krueger was chosen president of the class in 1946, with Betty Ann Timmermann as vice president, Jane Warwick as secretary, Roxolin Bose as treasurer, Jo Ann Ehlers as reporter, and Allen Pittmann as sgt. at arms. This year the class chose Betty Ann Timmermann as their Queen of Hearts representative and she placed third. Carolyn Karbach was queen. Jo Ann Ehlers was chosen as Queen of Hearts representative in 1947. She placed fourth, with Peggy Ludwig as queen. This year Betty Ann Timmermann was elected president of the class. Other officers were: Mitzi Nuhn, vice presidentg Arlene Krueger, secretary, Norma Jentsch, treasurer, along with Charlotte Jung. Out of this class Doyle Krueger was chosen Junior High favorite. Richard Gregory was elected president of the class in 1948 with Allen Pittmann as vice president, Roxolin Bose as secretary, Betty Timmermann as treasurer, Kathleen Karbach as reporter, and Harry Pantermuehl as sgt. at arms. Senior Day was celebrated at Lost Valley Guest Ranch in Bandera during May 11 and IZ. Baccalaureate was on May Z8, 1950 and Commencement Exercises wereheld on May 30, 1950.
