'71 ul'-' 6 X - jfw PW Uma K I I tcm scahon We dedicate THE PINE CONE of 1943 to the Home Front in the World War II, Wherever that Home Front may be--in the columns of the Home Guards, in the ranks oftheWAACS and the WAVES, girls in khaki-- releasing trained men for combat, in the services of the AWYS and the Nurses Aides, in munition plants, where thelight of war burns all night, in the crowds of civilians who exceed every bond drive, tax their hearts tofdll blood banks, pro- duce food for soldiers and al- lies, and sacrifice individual liberties forthe nation'sneedsg in school classes of the Vict- ory Corpsg in the organizations of Boy Scouts, faithful in the performance of duty--wherever this Home Front is found, its deeds are proclaiming that the Home Front and the Fighting Front are one indivisible unit shar1ng111the same taskg to end the threat to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
