SOPHOMORES The N. H. S. year of activities was begun by the Sophomore Class on October 7, 1947 with Freshman initiation. Freshmen came to school that day, adorned with old clothes, worn inside out and backwards. Girls sported old straw hats and the boys covered their curls with headscarfs worn rnammy fashion. The serenity of the initiation was bluntly interrupted when four underclassmen, girls at that, were dragged onto the stage. It seems that these damsels were caught snooping, and as punishment--can't you just feel raw egg cracked on your skull? The evening closed after the playing of games, with a lunch being served the students and faculty by the Sophomore Class. Out of the class of 16 they have a good representation on the High School Basketball team, namely: Robert Buck, Carl Seidel, Marvin Hanson, and Myron Christenson. The band, also claims three of their members: Connie Sartain, ElVeda Carlson, and Robert Buck. Their class officers for the year are: President--Madeline. Bridell: Vice-President--Claire Moberg: Secretary-Treasurer-- Marlis Quast. Members of their class on the Student Council are Connie Sartain and Carl Seidel.
