Class Prophecy cont'd. entry and delighted us immensely. When the laughter had died down there came the blare of bugles as the trapese artists swung rout into space. As we gasped in anticipation and held our breath, ARCO, THE GREAT turned five sumersaults in mid-air before clasping his partners hands. Glancing down at my program my eyes bulged out and I nearly fainted as I saw that ARCO, THE GREAT was none other than POKEY NEILSON, my old school chum. Then into the spotlight came FEROCHIA, the lion tamer. Opening the door and cracking her whip she stepped into the cage to take charge of her lions. Never before in my life had I seen such a dangerous and thrilling performance. As FEROCHIA stepped from the cage, MURIEL grabbed my arm and started jumping up and down and screaming, It's DOROTHY! It's DOROTHY HITHCOCK! Leaving the big top we wandered over to the side show. The door was blocked by a huge woman. I tapped her on the shoulder and was about to say, Beg pardon, when she turned around. I blinked my eyes and my mouth flew open. I was dumbfoundedf It was at this moment the barker announced, Presenting ---- The World's Fattest Woman! MISS BEVERLY WAMBOLTYZ After leaving CONEY ISLAND we went around to CIRO'S for lunch. We decided to spend the afternoon at a concert of the NEW YORK SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. With our noses in the air we made our way to two of the cheapest seats in the house. What a sensation to sit there and be able to faintly see the rich Vanderbilts, Rockefellers, Morgans, and Vanhorns in their various boxes. When the concert was over MURIEL turned to me and said, Would you like to meet the conductor? Unbelievingly I looked at her and replied, Yes. Yes, of course. I followed her back stage and there under a musicians' haircut I saw OSCAR BURCHETT. After chatting awhile we left OSCAR and I accompanied MURIEL to her hotel and informed her I would call for her at 8:00 to take her to the boxing matches at MADISON SQUARE GARDENS. Returning to the WALDORF- ASTORIA I leisurely ate dinner, and retired to my room for a rest. After picking up MURIEL, we rode by way of CENTRAL PARK to MADISON SQUARE GARDENS. The fight tonight was for the Heavy Weight Championship of the World. JERSEY JOE WALCOTT challenging the THE MASKED KILLER. The stadium was packed and the air was tense with excitment. Bets were four to one on the KILLER. They entered the ring, the gong sounded and as they removed their robes my eye was caught by the flashing green trunks of THE MASKED KILLER. Where

It was halfway through the first round when WALCOTT delivered a smashing left hook to the jaw, followed by a right, which knocked off the KILLER'S mask. His identity was re- vealed. The crowd went wild. The KILLER appeared stunned for a minute, but quickly rallied and let go a smashing right to WALCOTT'S head, followed by a crashing left. WALCOTT went down. A knockout in the first round. As the announcer's voice reached my ears it suddenly dawned on me where I had seen those green trunks before, Qway back in '48, for the announcer was saying, The New Heavy Weight Champion of the World, GERALD LAUGHLIN. After pushing our way through the crowd, we caught a taxi and headed for MURIEL'S home. I then bid her a cheerful adieu, promising to visit her on my next trip to the big city. Being very tired from the day's vianderings, I headed straight to my comfortable bed and reposed for a night of quiet rest. As the following day was Sunday I clothed myself in my most suitable suit and sauntered jo'vially to the4 Little Church Around The Corner. At the door I was 'welcomed by a very distinguished looking gentleman, the-pastor. At first I did not recognize the well dressed man, but as he spoke I realized it was KENNETH FAIRCHILD, and under a tie! At first he didn't know me either, but very soon he was relating to me the past few years of his life. ELAINE and I, he began, but was interrupted by the sweet strains of music drifting from the organ in the front of the church. There was ELAINE QOTTESONI FAIRCI-IILD, the organist of the church. She smiled sweetly as she glanced up and then continued playing until the beginning of the service. As I reached into my billfold to contribute to the work of the church, my hand dropped strangely to the near bottom. My meager savings were practically exhausted! After the service was over I decided there was nothing for me to do but to return home. So ended my first trip to NEW YORK. lkllllkirlkllrllilllillllllflllllflllilflllillilflkikllfilflllIlllllfllflflllllliklklkil Oh, yes! In case you're wondering what MURIEL was doing in NEW YORK, and all alone, I had better tell you. She was the latest and most popular cover girl for the POWER'S MODEL AGENCY. Hubba! Hubba!!
