The coronation of the 1960 Homecoming Queen was one of the highlights ofthe an- nual homecoming game played on October 14. Nominated bythefootball squad, the candidates for this honor were La Mae Neas, Lynne Murray, andJonetGallagher. As the queen's identity was revealed at the impressive pre-game ceremonies, Dave Swearingen crowned the football squads choice, La Mae Neas, the 1960 Homecoming Queen. La Mae ea Reign Over Homecoming Activitie PRETTY AND PERSONABLE . . . La Mae Neas, drum majorette has participated in many activities during her junior and senior high school career. Below, La Mae holds the new crown pre- sented to the Tigerettes by Rinehart's Jewelry Store. This new symbol of homecoming royalty will become another tradition to be transferred to each succeeding homecoming queen. 23
