fir rd' N 11 af Ruth Weltmer Secreto ry To Students of N H S I am certainly happy for you students that it is possible for you to enjoy this issue of the NEVAMO The yearbook presents a resume of our 1949 50 school year and the staff and sponsors are to be con gratulated on a Job well done Its production typifies the spirit of cooperation so much in evidence in our Nevada High School During your tenure in the Nevada junior-Senior High School I hope that you master the basic skills necessary for living most abun- dantly in our democracy May you never lose sight of the fact that your American heritage is a priceless possession and that it is only through education that you can defend and appreciate it to the full- est Through education you should not only be better fitted for life in our American democracy, but you should have taken advantage of your opportunities to progress and you should be realizing a full measure of freedom, As your superintendent of schools and high school principal I have observed you develop habits and attitudes and gain important know- ledge of the world about you, It has been a genuine pleasure to have worked with you and to have shared your joys and difficulties.
