Am I so much afraid Iwill not see That panes so thin can only but divide The truth out there from ignorance inside My soul? The wind, the fields, the stormy sea Together show the way to destiny. Yet must I leave this place where safe I hide? And then I strike and shatter every pane. The trembling air sneaks through and whispers, "Fight Now all that stood twixt word and deed - a sieve Which lets me stumble through that jagged lane. The Neshannock football team was predicted to end in second place and that was where they finished. The powerful Lancers under the leadership of Coach Bleggi came closer to play off competition than any previous Lancer football team. The one time "Ne- shannock cake-eater" team has now proven itself as a powerhouse in the Tri- county league. Neshannock came on strong in the beginning and defeated its long time rival, Shenango, in a hard fought struggle. Near the middle of the season the Lancers slipped and lost two games, one league and one not. This made it necessary for the Lancers to win the rest of its games to make the play-offs. They met that task up to their last game when they suffered a heart- breaking defeat to Union. 18 i, R. Englehart. Row Two - K. Holmberg, R. Another fantastic season for Coach Bleggi's track team as it captures its fourth straight tri- county win. "Big Ang" Burrelli broke the school record and then exceeded that. Many records were broken as usual for the mighty Lancer track team. "Should I break another record?" 35 "Big Den" Marburger, who coached the team to the cham- pionship game against Penn Hills last year, found this year to be a rather disappointing season with a final record of 6 to 3 which put them in third place. i t f- 4 tl- . is f- asf- ' if-ect. ,- 1 - . 7, .. -Q, zsrt g s .1k, w w img BASE , . We hope that in ten or fif- teen years from now you may look back and smile or even shed a sad tear of regret. But whatever it means to you there is a little of each of us in this book. lt would be impossible to list all the people responsible for making this year's LANCE what it is. The section editors and typists were the greatest. Mr. Getty always came through when he was needed even when we asked the impossible. Mr. Lucas, who stood by us through tears and tantrums, we couldn't have done it without you. Elaine, Anna and Walter . . . well thanks for everything. But most of all thanks to the Class of '74 for making this the greatest year ever. In the future we will all go our separate ways but the past 12 years have been ours to share. This yearbook is therefore dedicated to "The Steps From Tradition," the graduating class of 1974. Remember us fondly. Denise Bowen Editor-in-Chief every hello means a 'good-bye. it's a hard thing to say good-bye for the last time. always before, , I thought it would be easy. a wave, a sad smile, a few casual words, and that would be good-bye but it's not that way . . . I've taken my things and folded away my memories and said the proper words but how do I leave all the days, thoughts, ,i.
