Yes, hy the end of the season all 49 were experts at dei-orating Christmas trees and putting up red and green erepe paper. To lead them through the year they ehose Betty Freeman. Presi- dent: Betty Sehuepfer. Viee-President: Peggy Yos- hardt. Seeretaryg and Carol Sehnrk, Treasurer. For the tirst time at Nerinx. typing was offered to the Sophomores this year. As the sixth class of their day it made them a hnsy group. However. they took time out and entered into the husiness of initiation with gusto, making up for their diseomfort ot' last year hy putting the Freshmen through their paees. The fall and early winter days passed qniekly, and soon the Sophs. along with the other elasses, were deeorating their room with Ulll'lSllllilS eolors and paeking Christmas boxes tor others less fortunate than they. When the Yarsity haskethall season began, the names of six Sophomores were found on the roster, .Att the Box-Offire: Mary Kathleen Grate, .loan Barbeau, Mary Beth Braeckel, Joan Roche, Connie Weber, Maureen Langan, Joyce Colbeek an unusual mnnher tor a seeond year 1-lass to plaee on the team. On the afternoon ot' Fehruary 726th the Sophomores presented a musical, Once l'pon a Dream. 'l'he plot reyelyed around two tramps who tell asleep onn day and dreamed of a life ot' luxury. heset with the hurdens ol' wealth. When they awoke and found themselves still penniless, they realized they were hetter off than the wealthy. The show was written, produced, direeted, and pert'ormed by the Sophs to raise their mission quota. When May Day rolled around on the thirteenth, .loan Penzler and lilaine l'reyallet. representing the elass of '51, made their hows lretere the Queen. The Sophomores' tirst Nerinx p1'om that evening' brought the May festivities to a elose. 'l'he elass ended the year with a swimming party for the Seniors.
