GYM COUNCIL The Gym Council is organized for the purpose of providing an opportunity for developing many desirable social traits: such as courtesy, respect, truthfulness, honesty, and faimess: ele- ments spoken of collectively as sportsmanship. The council meets twice a month, and spon- sors a play-day, plus many other activities during the year.

Among the people who help keep N. H. S. nmning smoothly are the girls who work in the main office. They do a lot of work, but do not get much recognition for it. The girls who work are Mary Ann Hosfield, Connie Daugherty, Janice Jones, Jean Wallace, Judy Woods, Gaye Nell Carden, Kay Hart, Carolyn Tichenor, Joan Killebrew, Betty Stillons, Linda Kessel, Mary Jane McCartney, Linda McKean and Frona Hoover. Among their many duties are answering the telephone, running errands, making out the absentee list. Two girls work each hour and working in the office takes the place of having study hall.

They are sponsored by Mrs. Lucille Williams, Girls Physical Education Instructor. This is the second year for the Kat-ettes. They are led byDiane Branham, and Assistant Leader Deanna Haddock. Mrs. Williams is assisted by President Mary Lou Evans, Vice-President Gail Peters, and Secretary Judy Terry. The girls learn to be more coordinated and learn to march to music through practice. The girls perform at football and basketball games throughout the year. OFFICERS BACK ROW: Branham, Mrs. Williarm and Evans. FRONT ROW: Terry and Peters.
