Payne Jr., consisted of Diane CaHail, Ann Crowe, joan Leonard, Dixie Powell, Shirley Prater, Lee Butler, Tom Belding, Bill North, Bill johnson, Freddie Clark, and Bill Crowe. This team won the title of Big Eight Champions with their defeat over Carthage in the Big Eight Meet. At this meet joan Leonard took the girls singles title, Bill Crowe and Lee Butler won the boys' doubles, and Ann Crowe and Dixie Powell came from behind to win the girls' doubles. The team had six matches this year and lost only two of them. They defeated both Joplin and Monett twice, but lost to Carthage. The 1952 team was one of the best teams Neosho has seen for a long time, and the chances are it will be just as good next season.
