K . STUDE T COU CIL PAUL TENNIS Vice-President A 6 The Student Council of Neosho High School consists of one representative from each clasps, and a faculty adviser. The representatives, chosen by the students for their scholastic ability, are elected to serve one year. During that year they must maintain an M average in both scholarship and citizenship. The Student Council members meet during the activity period each week and offer to the best of their ability a fuller cooperation between students and faculty. They voted this year the financial backing necessary for the publication of the school song, The Black and the Gold, and much time and effort were spent on collecting material for a new school handbook. The election of the student body president and of the student body secretary takes place at the beginning of the school term. Raymond Green was elected as the '47 president and Marilyn Land as secretary. The vice-president, who is elected at the begin- ning of the second semester, is Paul Tennis. He presides over the meetings of Student Council. Ioyce Anderson, who was elected assistant treasurer last year, automatically became treasurer this year and Carol Cushman was elected as her assistant. Page 20
