In the second half Neody came back and won the game by a score of 9 to 6 Neody had really found herself When Canev came to Neodesha to play foot ball they were no a bit dlssappornted for they reallv had r game The two teams were so evenly matched th t there was Just a one toe diffs rence and that was Capt un Lane s drop krckrng toe which won the game The score was I to 0 in favor of Lane s drop kick Tre nex game w as plaxed at Weodesh.-1 rgarnst Oswcgo This game was a second team game before rt was over lxeodeshzr had its onlv walk .1 wav The score was 26 to 0 Neodesha got a real treat when rt was grvcn the opportunity to go to Emporia and play the Emporia college reserves. The College reserves had been beating the high schools, such as Emporia and Haskell. Haskell and Neodesha gave them the hardest games. Tf'ey beat us 17 to 0. The Neodesha term received some real ex- perience in this game and watched the Emporia college and Pittsburg college game. The next week Neodesha went to Independence and had a real football game. Independence must be given credit for having a good team for they surely put up a great scrap. They won the game by straight football. but by only a slight margin. The score was 14 to 13 in favor of Independence. Neodesha had a rest after the Independence game for about a week. During this time the whole school and all of the townsfolk were cramming full of pep. The team after being defeated by Independence in such a close margin had a determ'n1tion they had never had before. The Thanksgiving Day game was played at Fredonia. Neodesha started with the fight that comes natural against Fredonia, but as the game progressed they began to play real football. During the game Neody made one touch- down and a drop-kick, while all Fredonia could do was play so there would be two teams on the field. Neody sure had the old fight. Tre score was 9 to 0 for Neodesha. ARGYLE GENTRY. 11 if'1fETE"'n:' fT15i1iEEg1,.r3?ff'1ff?f1-514 Q 2 6 Forty-Ivo . .. ...........----.---Q., :Hr Ill ' ' LJ-.. 'I . , 5- .. The Fredonia game was an easy one at first. Neodesha ran off and left them. But they came back with a determination io win and Neody lost all of her fight, so Fredonia won 26 to 23. In the Cherryvale game the score was fairly close, but the teams were not so evenly matched as it indicated. Neodesha was never uneasy except at the last when the subs went in. The score was 19 to 16. Coffeyville came up to beat us again, and they did. This time though the score was different. Neodesha was in a slump that night, but at that had im- proved one hundred per cent over the first game. The score was 36 to 24, Coffeyville. Neodesha does not want to alibi, but we just cannot concede fo Fredonia that they are a better team. Neodesha was in the lead until about two minutes before the final whistle, then Fredonia tied us which meant an extra period of play. In this period Fredonia out played us, making two field goals while we made one free throw.
