1 l W C L ASS BDQQCRDHEQQQ F331 It's an old saying that all dogs have their day, and t e class of 'LL' is no exception. The day happened to be in the year of l95A----- and guess who the dogs were? Seems that Robert Lacy of the famous WFragrant Hog Ranch,W on which is produced that exotic perfume known as nStockyard,n had decided to invite his former inmates for a brief stay in the wide open spaces that surround Needles. A Invitations for the event were issued by his secretary Betty Lou Markham, the only gal in the class of 'LA' that mastered the strange art of writing. At the bottom of each invitation was the suggestion that each guest bring his own gasmask., The world weary guests arrived aboard the nSuperduper Chief,W which was run by the hot air belonging to famed lecturer Euel Teter. During their torturous journey they had been supplied free entertainment by concert pianist Helen Ballard, who is known professionally as NThe .Kitten at the Keys.U The gruesome group was met at the station by Chief of Police Walter Acuna, who could now toot his own siren instead of his pop's. Trans- portation to the ranch was furnished by taximan Bob Dial who's slogan was: WOn1y ten cents a mile if you ride with Dial--three cents less if your a gal and you smile.W a On arriving at the UFragrant Ranch,n the first one out of the taxi was famous cartoonist Wilford Fitzgerald who preceded to look about in hopes of finding some horrible scenery to draw, but after riding 50 miles with his former classmates, he was immune to horror. Getting out of the taxi Genevieve Grosely, who plays 3rd base for the New York Yankees, tripped and fell in a mud hole. Quick as a flash veterinarian Shirley Brewer was at her side. Finding no bones broken HDocN Brewer recommended an electric bath. But Miss Grosely flatly refused--seems she had an uncle that died from one in a place called Sing Sing. . When the gang finally maneuvered into the house it was 'time to eat. Dinner was promptly wrestled up land we do mean wrestledl by Mary Ann Kroeber--chief cook and bottle washer for Glifton's. Mary Ann was highly insulted when Howard Johnson complained about sand in his soup. He made it clear that he had come ,to see the desert, not to eat it. ' At the head of the table sat rusty haired and headed Mr. Tater. With him on his journey he had brought his mathematical prodigy, Iva Marie Porter. She had a lump on her head where Mr. Tater had helped her with her arithmetic the other night.
