(Not pictured: Teri Allgood) Many 1979-80 NCHS activities were highlighted by a talented group of 18 girls: the Drillteam. During the football season, they accompanied the band at halftime, performing a dual role as the flag corps and dance team. For the winter sports season, the group united as a drill-dance team and provided half-time entertainment at basketball games. Their precision routines also complemented band performances and contests. In addition to being a visual attraction at school events throughout the year, the group supported Fun Night by sponsoring the cake walk and participating in a Fun Night skit. I . 22
