Art Club Front row: Georgia Deras, Linda Blevins, Idona Meredith. Susan Crum, Jacque Golden, Bobette Masters, Donna Farson, Mindy Sackles, Carolyn Kramer; Second row: Shirley Krauter, Karen McCord, Jackie Pummel, Nancy Golden, Sandy Duncan, Marla 1965-66 began the second year of Art Club. The twenty-five members along, with their sponsor Georgia Loofe, showed much interest in the activities of this new organization. The Art Club met once a month with various speakers supplying the program. The club visited the Steinhart Park Lodge to view different types of art such as sculpture and oil and water color paintings which were on Group Leaders: Left to Right - Rick Hartman, Laurine Oberdieck, Maxine Wehling, Georgia Deras, Bonnie Brannon, Jacque Golden. Chamberlain, Judy Bebout, Carol Neil, Janet Ganzel; Third row: Leslie Carlson, Mick Osbon, Dave Pickering, Bob Logan, Dick Brust, Steve Webering, Richard Bond, Bob Culver. display. Throughout the year members of the Art Club made posters for the class play and ads for different organizations. Their art projects were used to decorate the school library. Because of the artistic talents of the Art Club members, the 1965-66 year was a successful one. Of America FFA Officers: Ken Reese, Reporter; Jerry Wirth, Vice-President; Tim Crook, President; Alan Stukenholtz, The Future Farmers of America, sponsored by Mr. Sorenson, has 90 members compared to 80 last year. Their purpose is to develop agricultural leadership and cooperation. To be a member you have to learn the FFA Creed and have a citizenship project. The FFA boys meet every second Thursday of each month at 7:30 in the Ag Room. It was not all work and no play for the Secretary; Leonard Crook, Treasurer; Stan Johnson, Sentinel. Ag boys. The year was highlighted by the annual FFA Banquet and FFA Sweetheart Dance. Other activities included selling pop corn at football and basketball games and the Pawnees Big Bluestem Test Plot, which was a first for FFA. Leonard Crook received a first place individual ribbon at the District Soil Judging Contest. Ag boys construct feed bunks. Mr. Sorenson explains the use of the table saw. 29
