Avenues to Greatness Majestically she stands-this Rochester of ours. Proudly she wears the crown of educational achievement. She is justly proud, for Minerva has smiled on our city. Enchanted by the beauty of her smile, Rochester has taken youth by the hand and led them to the portals erected in her honor. A university, rich in renown, famed for scholarship, claims her for its homeg a hne college--Nazareth, con- ducted by the Sisters of St. joseph and devoted to the education of Catholic women, adds dignity to 'her glory. Buried deep in her heart like a well-loved song is the East- man School of Music, which attracts pupils from far and wide. The Rochester Institute of Technology, old in the On to Greater Things fOpposile pagej: For almost twenty-live years Nazareth Col- lege has given not only to Rochester but also to cities through- out the nation, young women prepared to become leaders for good in their communities. Molder of Men fCenler drawingj: Many of our prominent men claim the Uni- versity of Rochester as their alma mater. The drawing shows the new library on the men's campus, beautifully located on the banks of the Genesee. history of Rochester, ranks high in the art, press and indus- trial circles. In addition, there are many schools devoted mainly to education along commercial lines. Supplementing all these is the beautiful Rundell Library where students have their problems solved for them and booklovers come for hours of relaxation. Sixteen high schools, whose scholarship has won ap- proval and high rating from both the Regents Board at Albany and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, seventy-two public and private schools, kindergartens, nursery schools--all have helped to build the pedestal on which Rochester's educational system rests. House of Many Friends fCenlerj: Aquinas Institute ranks high in our esteem, for Aquinas boys are our Prince Charmings at the Christmas Dance, they take the men's parts in our plays, their football games are tops, and their orchestra and hand concerts are just superb. Guardian of the Classics Uligbl drawingj: Who has not been enriched hy a visit to the Rundell Memorial Library! There among the classics we may find a novel, artistically written: a poem, woven by the Muses themselves: a play, truly holding the mirror up to nature. ,ac ..tt. 3 S
