THE DIVISIONS A Naxy ship has often been called a 'ffloating city and a more apt des- cription would be digicult to put down. And, as in any communigf of in- dividual people, there must be an effective organization. We must have ad- ministrative leadership, a court 5ySZ6m, a police force and a fre department. And what is any communigf without churches or hospitals, theatres and re- creational events? Our floating cigf must have a barber shop, a store, and laundry. But above all our ship has people, repair men and deck hands, shipjitters and yeomen, signalmen and gunner's mates, radarmen and cooks. The USS NAVASOTA has its communigf organized into departments and div- isions. In the pages that follow, these divisions and men are pictured and described. I 2 i l ia il J 2 l E .4 I i F E' l 5 l i.
