Q - SENIOR CLASS HISTORY lntroductuon The year 1951 the month September the place Navarre Hugh School the characters 54 young and excuted freshmen Chapter One lt was un the fall of 1951 that we the class of 55 started on our hugh school career To help us along the way we had as our class advusor Mr Earl Wusard We were consudered a large class wuth an enrollment of 54 students 12 of whuch came from Justus We had as our class offucers Presudent Kathryn Baker Vuce Presudent John Thompson Secretary Jean Specht and Treasurer Sandra Zunsmaster To represent us on the Student Councul we chose Jum Savage Nancy Stuvaktas Januce Stutz and Kathryn Baker The class chose lovely Jean Specht as attendant to the Football Queen We ended the year by havung an excutung class party un the hugh school gym Chapter Two Mr Donald Wunkelman and Mr Fred Brudeweser took on the task as our advusors Thus year we chose as our offucers the followung Presudent Tom Cole Vuce Presudent Betty Luckrung Secretary Janet Savage and Treasurer Patsy Swafford On the Student Councul we chose Tom Cole Janet Savage and Jean Specht Janet Savage made a charmung attendant to the Football Queen In the sprung Judy Goudy and Patsy Swafford were chosen as cheerleaders to lead our cheers for the next two years We all looked forward to the day when we would select our scarlet and grey class lackets We also worked very hard to bulld up our class fund The tume quuckly slupped by us and before we realuzed we were Junuors Chapter Three Our Junuor year proved to be a very busy one Mr Wunkelman contunued with us as our class advusor Furst of all we chose as our class offucers Presudent Bob Gates Vuce Presudent Tom Swafford Secretary Janet Savage and Treas urer Patsy Swafford Elected to the Student Councul were John Thompson Deanna Wunkhart and Bob Gates Luculle Spear served as an attractuve attendant to the Football Queen We were very proud to send Kathryn Baker to Gurls chosen Co Edutors of the yearbook for the Senuor year Kathryn Baker Rose Nof singer Aluce Schaller Melva Whutfueld and Sandy Zunsmaster were pucked by the teachers to enter the Natuonal Honor Socuety We were very proud to take over the Junuor Gyp Jount where we sold refreshments at the football and basket ball games Another tradutuonal event un our luves was selectung our beautuful class rungs of whuch we are all very proud In the sprung we selected our class play entutled The Good Egg whuch was a comedy un three acts lt proved a smash hut The most rewardung event took place on May 8th when we held the Junuor Senuor Prom at the Alluance Country Club Thus was enloyed by everyone And now to the last and most excutung chapter our Senuor Year Chapter Four Now there are only 38 left un our class all of us wuth a strong desure to make our last year the best of all We acquured a new advusor thus year Mr Loren Hostetler The offucers for our last year are as follows Presudent Wullard Hodgson Vuce Presudent Jean Specht Secretary Judy Goudy and Treasurer Kathryn Baker To represent us on the Student Councul we chose Patsy Swaf ford Luculle Spear and Wullard Hodgson We were honored to have John Thompson as our Football Captaun and Ray Rankun as our Basketball Captaun Betty Luckrung was chosen as Drum Mauorette One of the thrullung events of our Senuor year was the Homecomung Football Game Pat Swafford was our beautuful Football Queen wuth Mary Jo Hug a sweet Senuor attendant The crownung took place at the half of the Navarre Muddlebranch game In March four new members were elected unto the Natuonal Honor Socuety They were Jane Massue Judy Goudy Luculle Spear and Tom Swafford We selected our class play a comedy entutled Scootun Grandma whuch was presented un Aprul The three most excutung events that concluded our Senuor year were the prom graduatuon and the Senuor trup I I 1 I , ' 5 , .
